How to use a GPA calculator

Enter the grades and credit hours for each course, then review the weighted result. A course with more credit hours contributes more to the overall GPA than a course with fewer credits. Use the grading scale published by your institution rather than assuming a universal conversion.

For example, a four-credit course at 4.0 and a two-credit course at 3.0 produces 22 total grade points across 6 credits, giving a weighted GPA of about 3.67. This is why credit hours matter when checking a transcript.

Repeated courses, pass/fail subjects, withdrawals, plus/minus grades and rounding can be handled differently by each institution, so compare the result with your official academic policy.
